Yoga

I’ve been practicing yoga since 2004 and teaching since 2011. It’s been an anchor for me personally and a way to connect with people in such a beautiful way. I’ve taught mindful movement, meditation, and intentional breathwork in studios and in offices, on rooftops and on Zoom.

I bring relatable experience, humor, and play to my classes, and encourage people to be curious, present, and have fun.

I honor the place in you where the entire Universe dwells.
I honor the place that is full of goodness, truth, and love.
When you are in that place in you, and I am in that place in me,
We are One.

  • I took my first yoga class back in 1996, around the same time that I worked as a shampoo girl in my father’s hair salon. I believe that something about these two experiences — the physical and philosophical practice of yoga and the ability to influence others through a positive, nurturing presence — ultimately inspired my teaching journey.

I draw on personal experiences to create sequences and share intentions that are relatable, attainable, and authentic, so everyone can participate and feel connected. Regardless of the format, I create an experience in which students find body awareness and feel cared for. Expect complete vulnerability, honesty, and connection… and sometimes an “F” bomb or two…

Before pursuing her passion to teach yoga, I worked in the corporate world as a Graphic Designer, Marketing Assistant, and Recruiter for companies like Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher, & Flom, LLP, Sirius XM, and Robert Half/The Creative Group. I quit corporate life in 2011, immersed myself in yoga teacher training, and, after googling “yoga teaching jobs with health insurance,” began a seven-year career in management at Lululemon Athletica. I left Lululemon in October of 2017 to pursue full-time teaching (thanks in part to my husband’s health insurance) and, on March 8, 2018, became an Ambassador for the 14th Street store in Washington, D.C.

While I still teach yoga, I’ve since gone back to office life, and find that when both experiences are thriving simultaneously, so am I.
